How to Style: Blazer Dresses

As I’ve been getting closer to my 30s (a little too close if you ask me…) I like to think that I’ve been getting better at honing in on what my personal style is. At the present, I would say it could be described as wearable girly chic—Blair Waldorf meets the Florida heat, if you will.

Blazers have always caught my eye in the fashion world- I love the structure and flattering silhouette they can give an outfit and there are so many ways to wear them outside of the traditional application of office wear.

Enter the magical world of blazer dresses: in my opinion, the perfect way to add a girly touch to an otherwise powerful and more serious article of clothing. In my opinion, blazer dresses are those rare pieces where I do think that spending a little more can be justified because they are so versatile and can be worn multiple ways! I love having articles of clothing that I can style differently because then it feels new each time (and if you’re like me, you’re guilty of always chasing the high of wearing something new and fresh).

I’ve partnered with Revolve to share some blazer dresses and associates style tips for the upcoming fall season- I picked pieces from various price points so there truly is something for everyone if you’ve been interested to try this trend!

(Disclaimer: these pieces were gifted and may contain affiliate links but all opinions are my own!

Style Option 1: Elevated going out look

Keep it minimal for maximum impact. Blazer dresses look fantastic worn on their own with heels or knee high boots as I’ve styled here. Typically the neckline will be low- you can opt to layer a tank underneath but for going out, I like the more open look.

Depending on your height and body type, extra buttons may need to be added at the bottom of a blazer dress when styling this way to avoid flashing unsuspecting people. Lol

Style option 2: Casual Chic

Unbutton your blazer dress and BOOM! Instantly you have a longer length, tailored coat that is perfect to layer over dark wash jeans and a neutral blouse. Or wear it over your favorite mini dress or skirt with booties!

The structure of the blazer will give the entire look a cohesive and put together vibe, even if you’re just throwing it on over jeans to go to Target.

This pretty toffee number is the Davide Blazer Dress from the Camila Coelho collection from Revolve. I’m wearing a size small based on the reviews I read which suggested that this piece runs a little big. I would agree; if you’re in between sizes, go with the smaller option.
